I’ve not forgotten what yoga showed me more than 30 years ago. As an athlete headed to my first yoga experience in a community class at the local Y, I figured I already knew about this body. How surprising to discover that I had never felt embodied in quite the way I did for a couple of delicious, shining moments with these new (to me) movements and breath patterns. Goosebumps! The awe I felt led me to wonder, and I’ve been a student of yoga ever since.

My initial pursuits of yoga were primarily physical: I so valued the way the practices revitalized, brought ease, strength and alignment to my body. With time, I also came to understand and cherish yoga as an invaluable clarifier for the mind, fuel for the inner light, and pathway back to the truth of our nature.

I have been leading classes in Victoria and on-line since 2010. The more I share the lifestyle and practices of yoga, the richer is my world. It has always been my aim to build supportive and joyful collective of co-practitioners. I also hope to support each individual in discovering and sustaining their own personal home practice, where yoga’s particular magics seem to reveal differently. With committed home practice, we develop ever greater capacity to show up in kindness for ourselves, by ourselves, and with ourselves. We may find a deepened sense of self-awareness, and a discernment that is more true. When we learn to follow our own inner authority on our yoga mat, we can do the same in our lives.

I have specialty training in Trauma-Informed Yoga (Yoga Outreach), Yoga for Chronic Pain (Pain Care Aware, Neil and Lisa Pearson), and in using yoga to prevent and support recovery from body dysmorphia and eating disorders (Eat Breathe Thrive, Chelsea Roff).

Explore yoga with me in the community, in person or virtually, or one-on-one in my new home studio.

Please contact me for details about my teaching schedule, often in flux.

Through yoga, we can become present to our own fundamental goodness and the
goodness of others.

kind words about tracey

"Tracey has an in-depth knowledge of yoga poses and a knack for putting them together in fresh ways. Her wholehearted presence and zest for life makes her classes uniquely rich and joyful for me. She's a genuine gem of a human! If you're looking for a yoga class that will stretch your body and sparkle up your soul, Tracey's got you covered."

—J.G., Victoria, BC

I have studied with Tracey for two years and I've come to know a few things:

A class with Tracey is the beginning to a journey.

It's filled with fun, laughter, challenge and reward.

The reward is finding a more focused, healthier and empowered version of you.

The real you.

The one you feel calling you forward.

The one that is filled with possibility and joy.

She's an amazing coach and teacher.

Just go for it. Join her. Join your journey.

—Rachel Funk, Victoria

Loved the class today as I always do! Tracey has a gift of taking something complex and ancient, and making it accessible to a group of senior women who may or may not have ever heard of yoga before. Remarkable, isn't it? It's obvious she cares and it brings a special quality to our weekly class.
